Thornton A. Sullivan Park Clean up (June 20, 2015) At Corvus Construction, we love our customers and our community. Every year, we host a clean up in a local park. Last year we did Langus Park, this year we chose Thornton A. Sullivan Park.
We invited clients, employees, friends and family to join us. We love working with and helping the Everett Parks and Recreation Department and this year was another wonderful activity.
The Corvus Construction family and an amazing team team of volunteers met at the park on Saturday and we chipped in together to pull weeds, clear out plant overgrowth and spread mulch. As always, it was a pleasure to spend time together, encourage volunteerism and get outside in the summer sun and help our community.
The Silver Lake park is a beautiful part of the Everett community and we want to keep it that way. If you haven’t been there, you should definitely check it out.
It’s on the water, there’s a great Frisbee golf course, ping pong, walking trails, a fun playground and a picnic shelter. You can bring the kids, splash in the water, play in the sand and have a great day out.
And if you love Sullivan Park during the day, be sure to check it out at night as well. In the summer, the city of Everett hosts Cinema Under the Stars there with Friday night family-friendly movies at dusk. Because the park is so integral to the community, we know it’s important that the environment there is safe, healthy and beautiful for all to enjoy.
Because Everett is our community, we are committed to making it the best it can be. We work year round to make Everett a great place to call home and we always try to do our part to help out and make it a wonderful place for all of to enjoy.
That’s why, every year, we put on our blue Corvus Construction t-shirts and then get them sweaty from hard work helping others.
And to keep the youngest of our volunteers happy and motivated to help on a hot summer day of work, we always offer gift cards for the hardest working.
This year, the kid helpers walked away with Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt gift cards, movie ticket gift cards and one from Elevated Sportz. The kids enjoyed the rewards for their hard work and we enjoyed their help.
After the clean up, we hosted a barbecue for all our volunteers to show them just how much we appreciate them. We gave out the gift cards to the kids who chowed down on food Corvus founder Denis Vladyko grilled himself – and that was more hot work!
We rehydrated and enjoyed quality time eating and hanging out together before heading out to enjoy the rest of our beautiful weekend here in Everett.
Please join us next year and every year for another park clean up and beautification project. And if you have a particular park near you that needs some TLC, let us know! We want to say a huge thank you to our volunteers, young and old(er), big and small, that made this another successful year at Corvus Construction and in our community. Thanks!
