When your boss gets arrested, it’s usually nothing to celebrate – but when it comes to Denis Vladyko’s arrest earlier this month – it was wonderful news! The “authorities” arrested Denis Thursday April 4th at noon. He was handcuffed and hauled off the job site to serve some hard time at Comcast Arena in Everett with other local business leaders who had been rounded up.
Was it a crime ring? No – it was a Muscular Dystrophy Association event – and Denis had been nominated as one of the community leaders to be taken into custody for a good cause. The Corvus Construction chief was booked and his mug shot snapped before he was given handcuffs – golden ones! Denis was given the Golden Handcuff Award for his participation in this worthwhile event.
While Denis was behind bars, the entire Vladyko clan came to visit their imprisoned patriarch to show their support. Denis was released from the slammer later that afternoon for his good behavior and generous heart! Friends and family of the Vladyko family and Corvus Construction clients contributed to Denis’ “bail” and together raised $1,500 for MDA.
For all those who supported Denis and MDA, the Vladykos want to say, “We are so grateful to have been a part of such a wonderful event and are amazed by the generosity of all our friends, family and clients for their support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Denis’ participation in this event. Thank you!”
Donations Denis and his supporters raised from his “arrest” will help local families in our community dealing with Muscular Dystrophy. Funds will help children age 6-17 stricken with MDA attend a special needs summer camp especially for those with neuromuscular disease.
Did you know there are over 2,000 children and adults in Western Washington living with Muscular Dystrophy? This is a profound genetic disorder that gradually weakens the muscles and impacts quality of life, growing more severe as the sufferer ages. And if you’re in need of a renovation or construction project of any size, now that Denis is a free man, he’d be happy to come to you for a free consultation!
